Code of Conduct

We are committed to creating a safe and inclusive atmosphere for everyone at all Taipei Blockchain Week (TBW CO., LTD., 不是台北區塊鏈股份有限公司) hosted events in conjunction with BuZhiDao and 她 Ta Zhi Dao. This Code of Conduct also applies to any events we are affiliated with.

What is the Code of Conduct?

We're dedicated to a welcoming environment for all, regardless of gender, orientation, ability, ethnicity, or faith. This Code of Conduct (the “Code”) outlines our expectations for participant behavior as well as the consequences for unacceptable behavior.

Who does the Code of Conduct apply to?

Everyone plays a role in ensuring a safe and positive experience. Attendees, speakers, sponsors, volunteers are expected to read, understand and adhere to the Code. 

By registering for an event, purchasing a ticket and/ or attending an event, you are agreeing to follow the Code. The Code applies to any conference venue, including talks, workshops, and social media platforms.

Integrity and Respect

We prioritize a zero-tolerance policy against all forms of harassment or abuse within our community, encompassing verbal, physical, or sexual misconduct, discrimination, or any inappropriate behavior. We speak up if we come across it whether it is happening to us or we see it happening to someone else.

Some guiding principles:

  • Have respectful communication and interactions

  • Inclusive behavior and language

  • Collaboration and mutual support

  • Be mindful and respect other personal boundaries, get consent if you are unsure

  • Report concerns or incidents if you notice a danger or distress

  • If you are asked to stop unacceptable behavior, comply immediately

Harassment and Violence

We are committed to building and preserving a safe and healthy environment and respecting everyone’s rights, culture, diversity and dignity. We do not tolerate acts of harassment or violence of any kind (e.g., physical, written, verbal or other abuse), and everyone is personally accountable and responsible to enforce this.

Things that are prohibited:

  • Use offensive verbal comments related to gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, age, religion

  • Demonstrate any boisterous, lewd or offensive behavior, including but not limited to using sexually explicit or offensive language, materials, images or conduct

  • Demonstrate behavior that in any way creates a disturbance that is disruptive or dangerous, or creates anxiety in a person such as pushing, shoving or use of any physical force like threats, or coercion to abuse, intimidation, or aggression to dominate others

  • Inappropriate physical contact, invasion of personal space, unwelcome sexual attention and/ or deliberate intimidation, stalking, or following

  • Harassing photography or recording

  • Sustained disruption of talks or other events

  • Advocating for, or encouraging, any of the above behavior

Discrimination or harassment of any kind (e.g., physical, written, verbal or other abuse) including discrimination or harassment on the basis of race, color, religion, veteran status, national origin, ancestry, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, age, family status, mental or physical disability, or any other characteristic is strictly prohibited. 

Report Violations

It’s simple. If you see something wrong, report it.

We have implemented a confidential mechanism that allows victims to report incidents anonymously, ensuring their well-being amidst the potential challenges and stress associated with reporting. We’ll conduct a prompt and thorough investigation for all reports received. Please open the link below to submit a report.

Submit a Report

If you are subjected to unacceptable behavior, notice that someone else is being subjected to unacceptable behavior, or have any other concerns during the event, please report it immediately or notify info@taipeiblockchainweek.com as soon as possible. All reports will remain completely confidential.

Reporting Immediate Violence

If this is a violent, aggressive, or dangerous situation or if someone is in need of urgent medical attention, please alert security or a TBW staff member. If you cannot locate one, contact medical help, and or local law enforcement immediately.

In the event that you are making a personal report, TBW staff will locate a secure environment for your safety and may involve other staff if needed to support your report. We understand this can be an upsetting experience, and want to ensure that your identity and confidentiality will be respected. Should you need another person to accompany you for support, please bring them.

We're committed to your safety, ready to assist with contacting hotel and/ or venue security, law enforcement, provide an escort, and local support services during the event. Your presence is valued by BZD, and we're here to help.

No Retaliation

We prohibit any retaliation against any person(s) for reporting or participating in good faith in any investigation of any possible violations of the Code. The same will apply if someone is seeking guidance as to how to proceed, or has questions. If you believe you are being retaliated against, please contact info@taipeiblockchainweek.com.

Consequences for Violations

All decisions about appropriate or inappropriate behavior are at the sole discretion of the event organizers Taipei Blockchain Week and 她 Ta Zhi Dao. Any violations of the Code may be sanctioned or expelled from the conference without a refund at the discretion of the conference organizers.

Our commitment extends to educating and raising awareness among our members, providing training on recognizing and addressing harassment, supporting victims, and fostering a safe and inclusive environment. 

Photo Policy

The conference has various photographers and videographers present at the venue for visual documentation of the event. Pictures and videos will be published on the conferences’ websites and social media channels.

Asking to have your picture removed after the conference

If after the event you find a published picture of yourself that you would like to have removed, please let us know at info@taipeiblockchain.com.

Respect others’ choice to be in photos or not

Please respect other people’s privacy, boundaries and choice about their willingness to be in pictures. In case of any doubt, please ask before taking photographs of anyone.
